Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims and Assumption of Risk Agreement

By signing this document/registration form you will waive or give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue or claim compensation following an injury.

Please read carefully.

This agreement applies to all participants in the Mother’s Day 5Km, 10km Run/Walk and Kids 1 km Dash organized by North Peace Pregnancy Care Centre Society, including its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, sponsors, representatives, and partners (collectively referred to as “the Releases.”)

Definition of Activities

This agreement applies to all activities connected with the event including but not limited to:

•    Running or walking in the event
•    Participation in the Kids 1 km Dash
•    Warm-ups, instruction, or event activities
•    Travel to and from the event
•    Use of park trails, roads, sidewalks, and surrounding event areas

These are collectively referred to as “the Activities.”

Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk

I acknowledge that participation in the Activities involves inherent risks, dangers, and hazards that may result in injury, illness, property damage, or death.

These risks may include, but are not limited to:

•    Slips, trips, or falls
•    Collisions with other participants, spectators, or objects
•    Uneven terrain including pavement, gravel, grass, tree roots, holes, or obstacles
•    Weather conditions including rain, wind, heat, or cold
•    Physical exertion, dehydration, or fatigue
•    Limited availability of immediate medical assistance
•    Negligence of other participants
I freely accept and fully assume all such risks and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage, or loss resulting from my participation.

Release of Liability and Waiver of Claims

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Activities, I agree:

1.    To waive any and all claims that I have or may in the future have against the Releases.
2.    To release the Releases from any and all liability for any loss, damage, injury, illness, or death that I may suffer arising from my participation in the Activities.

This release applies to any cause whatsoever, including negligence, breach of contract, or breach of any statutory duty of care, including any duty owed under the Occupiers Liability Act of British Columbia.

Indemnification

I agree to hold harmless and indemnify the Releases from any liability for injury, loss, or damage to any third party resulting from my participation in the Activities.

Medical Consent

I confirm that I am physically able to participate in the Activities. In the event of injury or medical emergency, I authorize event staff or medical personnel to obtain medical assistance on my behalf.

Photography and Media Release

I grant permission for photographs or video taken during the event to be used by the organizers for promotional or educational purposes.

Governing Law

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, and any legal action relating to this agreement shall be brought exclusively in the courts of British Columbia.

Acknowledgement

I confirm that I have read and understood this agreement prior to signing it and I understand that by signing it I am waiving certain legal rights.
